My first attempt at databending, strictly by removing various parts of information to see how each section seems to affect the image. Generally I noticed that the top initially affects the hue of the overall image and the further I went down, the more the image started to warp around itself. Ending at the bottom, where the grey bar started to appear.
This was another databending experiment to see how many more colors I could try to get out of it, but only really seemed to change the hues and scuff the resolution of the image. There was more of an attempt to move the data around, but I could do too much before the image was totally unrecognizable, resulting in bars of white and dark red.
This final image I made through copying and pasting parts of the image manually, as well as abusing a variety of layer types and colors to recreate the sort of effect that I wanted to achieve through databending. So many of the colors here I wanted to see out of the first two, but couldn’t figure out though trial and error. Although I am thinking of incorporating this into my usual digital art to some extent.
